I am directed by the Secretary of State for War to
6431 acknowledge the receipt of your letter NO. 95
dated 29th April
1895, forwarding a copy of an Ordinance passed by the Legislature
of Hong Kong entitled "The Defences Sketching Prevention
Ordinance 1895", together with a copy of a report thereon by the
Colonial Attorney General, and a copy of the former Ordinance
No.2 of 1888.
In reply I am to inform you that Mr. Campbell-Bannerman
concurs with Lord Ripon in thinking that this Ordinance may
receive Her Majesty's sanction.
